Welcome!
Hello and Welcome!
My name is Laura Hunter. I am honored to be Mrs. Washington Internationl 2011.
Here's a little information about me. I am a wife and mother of two fabulous girls ages seven and 1 year. I am also a professional photographer and owner of Beyond Photography in Bellingham, Washington.
Over the past few years I have dedicated much of my time to volunteer efforts. I am a trained Disaster First Responder with the Red Cross and volunteer for many charities in my area. I co-founded the Pacific Panthers Organization. We are a non profit volunteer adult cheerleading organization that promotes healthy lifestyles at local schools and youth clubs. I was recently honored with the President's Volunteer Service award for donating over 350 hours of my time to charity in the past 12 months.
I also enjoy modeling and acting. You can see me in print and television advertisements for Nintendo Wii, Microsoft, Bissell, Emerites Airlines, Toyota, the Seattle Mariners and many others.
I am excited to report that I am currently a cast member on a reality TV show being aired on Fox Sports. We are filming all over the USA and very excited for our show to air in April of this year!
I am a strong believer in healthy living and family togetherness. That's why I decided to champion the platform of "Family Fitness - Healthy choices for strong families!" We are very active in my household and we chose to spend time together in a number of healthy and active activities. My daughter dances, I coach cheerleading, my husband and I work out together and we all have a great time at each other's endeavors. We're not only staying healthy, but we're always getting closer as a family as we support one another. We believe that less screen time and more real life fun is one of the best things a family can do for each other.
I am so fortunate to have such a supportive family! We all travel together as well as attending football games, dance competitions, cheerleading events, and we also enjoy a lot of fun outdoor time. I am also very fortunate to have the support of the Pacific Panthers Organization. They have been so great cheering me on and always being supportive of my appearances and volunteer schedule!

A great time!
What a great time I've had so far this weekend! Yesterday I attended the Miss WA Pageant and got to cheer for some great ladies and visit with somany of my pageant sisters! Today I volunteered for the Whatcom County Relay For Life and taught a cheer to the kids then helped them with a cheer lap for the walkers. They were so cute and every-one loved it! Then we went straight to the bulldogs game. My cheerleading team did great and the fotball team won another game to keep us undefeated! Go Bulldogs! Last but not least, I have a modeling job I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. I'll put up some photos during the week. Thanks for reading!

The 2010 Pageant is Over!
The pageant finally came and went. It was a fun weekend! I placed 3rd runner-up and won the Most Charity Work Award (tied with the fabulous Yolanda) and Best Scrapbook Award. Here's a video of the 70s production number. You can't see me very well from this angle. I'm the last person in the 2nd row.
Thank you so much to every-one who supported me all year! I really appreciate you all so much!

Relay For Life
My friend Linda is the chairperson for the Relay for Life of Snohomish County. She did an AMAZING job today. Her team raised just under $100,000 dollars!!! I'm so proud of her! I volunteered for the event and got to spend some time with the Lake Stevens Aquafest Royalty also. Way to go Linda!

It's almost pageant time!
I can't believe that I'll be leaving for the pageant in six days! Time has flown by! I want to thank all of the people who have been so sweet to help me prepare and all of my sponsors. You are all amazing! My biggest fans are my daughters and my husband. I can't imagine doing this without you guys! I love you!
I'm also so proud to have exceeded all of my goals for appearances. It's been a great year!
I believe I'm ready to compete. I have all my pretty clothes and accessories, gifts for the gals, my scrapbook and lots of confidence. I'll be posting my last slideshows before the pageant tomorrow. Wish me luck!

What an Honor!
What a great day! It was such an honor that I got to meet a gold and silver medal Olympian, Billy Delong! He won both medals in the nordic combined! I also had the opportunity to cheer Vonda DeLorenzo (Miss Whatcom County)on as she sang the National Anthem and watch my cousin Paul Hafford, #7, play in the Bellingham Slam Game! Isabelle was in the Moses Lake parade this weekend with our beautiful Mrs. Washington contestants and I attended a great wedding (photos of that to come soon). Enjoy the slide show! (I don't know why but there's a gap between the last 2 photos. The photo of Billy, Vonda and I takes a while to load but it's worth it because we're wearing REAL olympic medals!)

Over 60 appearances and counting!!!
Hello,
I'm so excited to hit to 60 appearances mark! My new goal for the year is 75!!! I'm sure I'll make it!!
My family and I had another great weekend! We went to all of the Aquafest festivities in Lake Stevens. We were there Friday through Sunday! The final event was the Miss Aquafest Pageant Finals. I'd like to send out a huge congratulations to Isabelle, Hailey, Macy and the other queens on their wins. It will be such a fun year for them! It was also a treat to get to see Elizabeth all weekend.
I also went to our dance practice in Bellevue this week. Our poor Director Pam made the trip over the mountains despite having bronchitis! She's a trooper! It was great seeing the other contestants too. Now it's time to practice!!
Enjoy the photos below and have a great week!!

My Acting/Modeling Resume
Hi every-one!
I've had so many people ask me lately what I'm doing in the acting and modeling world that I thought I'd post my resume. I'm hoping this works and that you will be able to click on it and read it. Crossing my fingers!

Big Weekend!
Hi all,
We had a HUGE weekend. I did some modeling for United Way then my family and I went to the Bellingham Slam season opener and watched our cousin Paul play. He's an amazing player and played for Norway over the winter. He made about 22 pts and we won! Lisa, one of my cheerleaders, also dances for the Slam so it was great to cheer her on too.
Saturday we walked 3 miles in the MS Walk and then went to the Bulldogs Carwash. That evening I went south to help coach the Aquafest pageant girls! We had a whirlwind weekend!

This is my very first post! I'm excited to start my blog! This year I have been focusing on really getting out in the community and supporting my platform as well as the Mrs. Washington Pageant. My goal was to make 52 appearances this year and I'm so proud to report that I have already surpassed that goal! I had a big week volunteering for a charity benifit dinner in Everett, WA for the Domestic Violence Prevention Association, MCing a the WA Little Miss Sunshine Pageant, speaking at a seminar and attending the NW Cuties Pageant. My family and I had a lot of fun!
I have so many photos from through out the year that it may take me a bit of time to make some collages to share. I'll try to have them up in the next week.
Come visit my blog often. I will be making weekely updates!
