The pageant finally came and went. It was a fun weekend! I placed 3rd runner-up and won the Most Charity Work Award (tied with the fabulous Yolanda) and Best Scrapbook Award. Here's a video of the 70s production number. You can't see me very well from this angle. I'm the last person in the 2nd row.
Thank you so much to every-one who supported me all year! I really appreciate you all so much!
Welcome!
Hello and Welcome!
My name is Laura Hunter. I am honored to be Mrs. Washington Internationl 2011.
Here's a little information about me. I am a wife and mother of two fabulous girls ages seven and 1 year. I am also a professional photographer and owner of Beyond Photography in Bellingham, Washington.
Over the past few years I have dedicated much of my time to volunteer efforts. I am a trained Disaster First Responder with the Red Cross and volunteer for many charities in my area. I co-founded the Pacific Panthers Organization. We are a non profit volunteer adult cheerleading organization that promotes healthy lifestyles at local schools and youth clubs. I was recently honored with the President's Volunteer Service award for donating over 350 hours of my time to charity in the past 12 months.
I also enjoy modeling and acting. You can see me in print and television advertisements for Nintendo Wii, Microsoft, Bissell, Emerites Airlines, Toyota, the Seattle Mariners and many others.
I am excited to report that I am currently a cast member on a reality TV show being aired on Fox Sports. We are filming all over the USA and very excited for our show to air in April of this year!
I am a strong believer in healthy living and family togetherness. That's why I decided to champion the platform of "Family Fitness - Healthy choices for strong families!" We are very active in my household and we chose to spend time together in a number of healthy and active activities. My daughter dances, I coach cheerleading, my husband and I work out together and we all have a great time at each other's endeavors. We're not only staying healthy, but we're always getting closer as a family as we support one another. We believe that less screen time and more real life fun is one of the best things a family can do for each other.
I am so fortunate to have such a supportive family! We all travel together as well as attending football games, dance competitions, cheerleading events, and we also enjoy a lot of fun outdoor time. I am also very fortunate to have the support of the Pacific Panthers Organization. They have been so great cheering me on and always being supportive of my appearances and volunteer schedule!

Relay For Life
My friend Linda is the chairperson for the Relay for Life of Snohomish County. She did an AMAZING job today. Her team raised just under $100,000 dollars!!! I'm so proud of her! I volunteered for the event and got to spend some time with the Lake Stevens Aquafest Royalty also. Way to go Linda!

It's almost pageant time!
I can't believe that I'll be leaving for the pageant in six days! Time has flown by! I want to thank all of the people who have been so sweet to help me prepare and all of my sponsors. You are all amazing! My biggest fans are my daughters and my husband. I can't imagine doing this without you guys! I love you!
I'm also so proud to have exceeded all of my goals for appearances. It's been a great year!
I believe I'm ready to compete. I have all my pretty clothes and accessories, gifts for the gals, my scrapbook and lots of confidence. I'll be posting my last slideshows before the pageant tomorrow. Wish me luck!

What an Honor!
What a great day! It was such an honor that I got to meet a gold and silver medal Olympian, Billy Delong! He won both medals in the nordic combined! I also had the opportunity to cheer Vonda DeLorenzo (Miss Whatcom County)on as she sang the National Anthem and watch my cousin Paul Hafford, #7, play in the Bellingham Slam Game! Isabelle was in the Moses Lake parade this weekend with our beautiful Mrs. Washington contestants and I attended a great wedding (photos of that to come soon). Enjoy the slide show! (I don't know why but there's a gap between the last 2 photos. The photo of Billy, Vonda and I takes a while to load but it's worth it because we're wearing REAL olympic medals!)
